Wow, so I know it's been forever since I've been back to posting. I just don't know how other crafty bloggers have time to do this. I spend all my time crafting and raising a family, work, life, travel, husband, movies, puzzles, Christmas shopping, cookie baking, card sending, school parties, Packer games, chores, etc....I just don't have time to play on the computer too! So here it is, 11:30 at night and I'm trying to sneak in some things.
My family entered a gingerbread contest in our home town and we won first prize for the family entry. We won $20. This was very nice as I thought it covered most of the expense of the supplies to make our gingerbread creation...but little did I know my kids had other plans. $20 divided 5 ways is four dollars each. This is what they had decided to do with the winnings!
Here are some photos of our idea.

Since we had the opportunity to go to Bald Head Island, NC this summer, we modeled our gingerbread house after Old Baldy Lighthouse. My middle daughter and I worked on the lighthouse.
My oldest daughter and my hubby worked on the lighthouse keeper's cottage, and my youngest daughter was in charge of the landscape including the ocean! I am so proud of my family. We did a great job.
Not sure what we'll do next year...but we're already thinkin' up ideas!
